A Dropbox-Like Experience on Top of UCM

Thanks to John Sim (@JRSim_UX) and his work with Fishbowl (@FishbowlE20), I found this interesting proof of concept video done by John Brunswick (@johnbrunswick) showing a Dropbox experience on top of Oracle UCM.

E2.0 Workbench Podcast 3 – HTML5, UCM and WebCenter “QuickBox” | John Brunswick

Pretty cool stuff. We’ve been in love with Dropbox for years and have been plotting to build something similar for our own use internally for just as long.

Yet another instance of scratching an itch.

This is great stuff. Kudos to John. I’d love to get this implemented on our production instance, or at least, use it myself.

  1. We really need Oracle to arrange a joint hackathon week or roadshow for all of us.. 🙂

Brunswick, Apps Lab, Fishbowl, A-Team and others..

It would be awesome to see the types of ideas we could collaborate, come up with and create..

  2. We talked about trying to put together a hackathon at OOW a couple years ago. I think it’s a fine idea, but I wonder how many people would show. Maybe Fishbowl could promote something, and we could come along for the ride.

    Let’s discuss.

  3. John & Jake,

Great idea!  I am sure that we could come up with some awesome, innovative work if we have a day or two together.

Will hopefully be able to head to OOW this year and would enjoy meeting you both.

    Cheers,
    John

  4. Agreed. Even if we can’t pull off something official, we could huddle with a smaller group in an off-site place with wifi, e.g. we always end up a Puccini & Pinetti bc of their wifi and happy hour 🙂

  5. A-Team will be represented at OOW and, though I generally get in trouble when I speak for others, I say sign us up. 🙂

  6. Forgive my ignorance, but for my own information, what’s the A-Team? Unless you’re Face, I’m missing something 🙂 Will let you know, probably in this space, if we decide to do something official, probably over Twitter if we do something ad hoc.

  7. “If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire… The A-Team.”
