Google Now Looks Sweet

Paul (@ppedrazzi) is right, Google Now looks insanely cool and borderline creepy and invasive all at once.

It only makes sense that the next wave of innovation will be focused on harnessing all the noise created by social tools and intelligently determining what matters most to you. I guess Robert Scoble (@scobleizer) is referring to this an automatic and contextual world.

It’s going to be interesting to see how many people are willing to exchange privacy (or the illusion thereof) for convenience. The reality is that you might as well submit and get something for your data, given how much Google and company already know about you.

Update: Figured I should mention that Google Now is a feature of Jelly Bean, a.k.a. Android 4.1, which is trickling out to phones now, including the Nexus S GSM. This will probably tip the scales in favor of an Android reflash of the S Rich sent me. I’m stoked to move to Jelly Bean on my primary phone, the CDMA Nexus S, not just for Google Now, but because ICS, especially the Phone app, has been a disaster for me.
