Some New Technical Content from an Old Friend

August 27th, 2012 1 Comment

After a quiet Summer during which I hear he was busy getting married, Friend of the ‘Lab John Sim (@jrsim_uix) of Fishbowl Solutions (@fishbowle20) has unleashed a torrent of good technical posts over on his C4 blog.

The four c’s are content, context, collaboration and community, if you’re wondering about the blog’s name.

ADF WebCenter Portal/Spaces Advanced Skins Overview: John has long been a whiz at building custom skins so this is a must-read if you’re looking to get started with skinning and need to know some best practices.

WebCenter Portal Spaces – Real Time Messaging & Presence Solution: This post covers John’s work to build a social chat service on top of WebCenter Portal. I hope he makes it to OpenWorld this year because he and Noel (@noelportugal) really need to sit in a room and build something cool. You may recall Noel’s work with OraTweet included a ton of XMPP work.

WebCenter Portal & Spaces Boilerplate template and overview to responsive design: Responsive design is one of my favorite topics, and John covers it well. This post shows how to apply responsive design techniques to an ADF site. Bet you didn’t think that was possible.

There are a few other new posts from John too, and I’m glad to see him back in the saddle and contributing content to the WebCenter community at-large.

If you’re using WebCenter and don’t read John’s blog, you should.
