Saw this yesterday on Signal vs. Noise.
Something about it fascinates me. Imagine yourself presented with this box. You’d immediately flip the switch, and after that, again to see if you could defeat the mechanical arm. It’s entertainment value far exceeds what you’d think from a description.
It taps into our innate curiosity first, then into our ego, then into our stubbornness. Or maybe it’s just me.
Love it 🙂 There must be some sort of a battery inside, so maybe you can beat it after it runs out of juice?
I did a full on LOL when I saw it.
What it really needs is a sign that says, “Don’t flick this switch!”, and when you do it scythes off your fingers… 🙂
Cheers
Tim…
Ha, spoken like a true DBA. People do have a nasty habit of loving a challenge, e.g. don’t pet that cat, he hits, followed by immediate petting and hitting then lulzing.
There’s something innately human about how we love a challenge.
Excellent idea, have fun proving it 🙂
Pure genius…
This is what happens when someone has waay too much spare time on their hands.. 🙂
So.. is this going to be an apps lab suppier to client present.. ..
We could definitely build a software version of this 🙂
