I read this news with some sadness.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 8.9 to Have Customizations on Top of Honeycomb | Android Phone Fans
One promising thing about Android 3.0 was that it might skate by without bloatware. The Motorola Xoom reportedly is stock Android 3.0, no additional layer of carrier or hardware vendor software.
I was naive to think other Honeycomb tablets would also follow this plan.
Aside from my general aversion to bloatware, there are several negatives to additional layers of software, e.g. general slowness, disabled features, and slower upgrade cycles.
Anyway, I’m not surprised but definitely disappointed.
