1Password App Comes to Android

Shortly after I finally got my 1Password store working on Android via encrypted web page, the Agile Web Solutions team has released an Android app.

Happy day!

1Password app now available in Market | Android Central

The app uses the 1Password Anywhere store, which must be copied to the phone’s SD card root before the app will work.

The Android app doesn’t have syncing like the iPhone app does, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to point the app at a 1Password Anywhere store, like on Dropbox.

No big deal. It works like a champ.

Given the geeky creativity of the user base though, I’m sure somebody will get a Dropbox solution working.

Kudos to the Agile team for actually listening to their users. They went from “no plans” when the G1 and Android launched in 2008 to a working app in two years, spurred on by the increasing demand of their users.
