Rich (@rmanalan) continues to add features to the WebCenter Chrome extension, and it’s looking like we may eventually get it released outside the firewall.
After adding a few new features last week, the latest version (1.0.9) added a few tweaks, including improved sizing of inlined media (e.g. the viewers for YouTube and Vimeo clips) and support for embedding Prezi, which Rich is using for our OpenWorld session.
Speaking of OpenWorld, the Chrome extension will be on display in the demo grounds if you want to check it out, and another recent update Rich made brings it a bit closer to product, i.e. there are now options to configure the WebCenter REST API settings.
This means that if you’re an Oracle Sales Consultant, and you want to show off the extension against a demo environment or your local installation, you can. Just hit me up in comments of by email for the install.
For now, the extension only supports basic authentication and Oracle SSO, and adding other authentication methods is one of many additional steps we’ll need to take before this baby gets released.
Still, we’re moving in the right direction.

Does the embedding of Prezis only work for content stored on the Prezi servers, or is it possible to embed content created on Prezi Desktop?
@frank we embed hosted prezis only, but you can share your prezi as a file… we just can’t inline it.
I think this is going to be a great sales tool for us. Please let me know how I can download and install the Chrome Extension.
