Looks like our friends over in Marketing, Marius (@radu43) and Tim (@planspark) are running Suggest-a-Session for OpenWorld (@oracleopenworld) again on Oracle Mix (@oraclemix) this year.
On Friday, I found out Rich’s (@rmanalan) session proposal, “Building Mobile Apps with Oracle” was not accepted. Rich immediately added its abstract to Suggest-a-Session, and I tweeted a call to vote.
However, turns out that employee-submitted sessions cannot participate. Bummer.
I suppose we should have guessed this, and I wonder why Mix didn’t just prevent Rich from submitting.
Oh well, now that it’s submitted, why not throw your support to mobile if you’d like to see Rich show how we build mobile apps like the Anthony’s (@anthonyslai) WebCenter Android app on top of Oracle’s products? I can’t guarantee it will make any difference for us this year, but maybe it will help show the demand for mobile topics at OpenWorld for next year.
And maybe we’ll get some traction for COLLABORATE 12 and KScope 12.
We need the support, having been shut out of all three conferences in 2011.
As with previous years, you need to register with Mix first and then vote for three sessions in order for your votes to count. I’m sure we’ll see a lot of worthy sessions from friends of the ‘Lab like Chet (@oraclenerd) and Raymonds (@rsim) so it shouldn’t be tough to find three.
Voting runs through June 19. So, if you want to vote or submit your own proposal, make it happen quickly.

I voted for it anyway. Perhaps if there is a groundswell of “passion and interest” we can trigger a Google Translate API-style rethink and get it in there! …:)
