Getting down to the wire for OpenWorld now, and the hits just keep on coming.
I found out today from Friend of the ‘Lab Marius Ciortea (@radu43) that the oracle.com team’s iPhone app, Oracle Now, is available in the App Store.
One question: where’s the Android love?
Anyway, with the app, you can follow all things Oracle, including news, events, webcasts, and blogs. Oh, and coincidentally, there’s a ton of OpenWorld stuff in there.
One interesting feature is a QR code reader, which apparently ties to codes that will be displayed at boothes in the demo grounds. I’m not sure what the codes will do, but hey, QR codes are fun, if only for the mystery aspect.
Case in point, the t-shirts we got at Google IO had QR codes on them, and yes, my curiosity drove me to scan them all, even though the results were rather pedestrian. The chase was fun.
Also, I found out today that ReadWriteWeb‘s (@rww) enterprise and cloud editor, Alex Williams (@alexwilliams) will be roaming around OpenWorld. I also know that Dennis Howlett (@dahowlett) will be in attendance, as will fellow ZDNet blogger, Michael Krigsman (@mkrigsman).
I suspect they won’t be alone. The Blogger Program is in full effect, and I expect more ink than usual to be spilled over OpenWorld, both on blogs and all over Twitter. Incidentally, I believe the hashtag for OpenWorld is #oow10 if you want to stay current with conference tweets.
Should be a full and fun week. If you’re at the show, drop a note or tweet at us (@theappslab, @anthonyslai, @jkuramot, @rmanalan).
