Decorating Ideas for the Modern Era of Leisure

Funny take on how work has evolved.

CoreToon: Things To Hang On Your Wall – Core77

Thinking about this, how many reality shows profile jobs like those in the cartoon? I can think of a dozen offhand. We’re oddly drawn to watching Alaskan crabbers, truckers, coal miners, loggers, restaurant workers, etc.

The only cubicle dweller show I can think of offhand is The Office.

I wonder if a reality show set in a corporate office could work, politics, intrigue, office romance.

Thoughts?

  1. I might be able to create 4 shows worth of material from the last 4 years. Would be a fun exercise, to write a corporate office screenplay. You game?

  2. I’m sure you have some stories to tell. I’d watch shows like that, but I wonder if anyone would take a shot. After all, the world of beige and gray cubicles and fluorescent lights pales in comparison to a coal mine. Not much physical danger or visual appeal 🙁

  3. I remember the Dilbert cartoon; it was highly entertaining, as is the comic. I wonder if non-office workers would find office comedy, reality or drama entertaining. That could be the larger problem, so maybe it needs to start small and build a following first.
