More OpenWorld Blogger Updates

Dennis pinged me over Twitter asking for keynote details for OpenWorld. So, I figured rather than talk about the elephant in the room, i.e. OpenSocial about which I know nothing, honestly, I would avoid the subject.

First, the official OpenWorld Agenda and Show Guide is available here. This is exactly the same one you’ll get if you attend. So, if you’re coming to OOW, have a look at the show guide and start planning your time. If you’re not coming, think about using Twitter to find someone who is to fill you in on the skinny. More on that later.

To help save some time, Justin and I combed the guide to find sessions or keynotes that might interest bloggers. You can find it here. We will be adding to this document, so check back for updates.

I will keep blogging updates as they happen. We have a proposal for additional blogger activities that has made the approval rounds and should be publicly available soon.

Other interesting tidbits:

• Justin has blogged his schedule. He also has a post about the No Slide Zone, and he’s in charge of the Unconference as well. The full OTN schedule is here. Watch his blog for more.
• Billy also blogged his schedule. I’m sure he’ll be floating around the Unconference and other 2.0 style events too.
• Anshu will be there. He has some SaaS session recommendations. As a member of the Enterprise Irregulars, I’m sure he’ll be interested in meeting his New Web colleagues and helping them navigate OOW.
• I’m sure I missed some other Oracle bloggers. Feel free to add schedules to comments.
• I found an interesting link to OpenWorld After Dark, a San Francisco night life guide for attendees. After all, what’s an OpenWorld without a chance to take in the beautiful city of San Francisco.
• I don’t know what Justin’s plans are for Twittering OOW, but I plan to try to use Twitter as a communication stream for the event. Robert Scoble’s tweets from the OpenSocial press conference yesterday are a good example of how Twitter can be used as a tool. Michael Krigsman has a post about the hidden press conference that happened on Twitter. So, if you can’t attend OOW, check out the people who are attending and follow the event virtually.
• There will be several flickr streams going too. Eddie started a group one last year to collect them, and he has one ready to go for this year too.
• I think Justin is encouraging people to use the tag “openworld07” for delicious, flickr, etc. I assume there’s a Pipes mashup or something similar in the works.
• Update: Kuassi Mensah has an interesting session called “Hands-on Lab: Ruby on Rails with Oracle Database”, and he and his team have a demopod in Moscone West, Level 1. The pod is in the Oracle Database section, and I believe it’s called “Ruby on Rails and Oracle Database 11g”.
